Bonita Springs emergency room expected to open in December, NCH says

NCH Healthcare System’s $34 million outpatient medical center under construction in Bonita Springs is planned to open in December. “It’s on schedule,” said Phil Dutcher, NCH Healthcare System’s chief operating officer. The Collier County-based nonprofit’s project — NCH Healthcare Bonita — is a 41,000-square-foot, two-story medical facility. The site, which is located west of U.S. 41 and just south of the border separating Bonita Springs and Estero, will include a 24/7 emergency room, outpatient imaging center, physicians offices and a surgery center.

NCH clearing land to build ER, outpatient medical center in Bonita Springs

The Collier County-based nonprofit said it has begun clearing land on the future site of NCH Healthcare Bonita, between Walden Center Drive and U.S. 41, in Bonita Springs, at the city’s border with Estero. The site is next to Diamond Oaks Village and across the street from Angelina’s Ristorante. It also is about half a mile from competitor Lee Health’s $140 million outpatient health village, which is under construction off of Via Coconut Point.

Hotel, storage units proposed for Immokalee Road in North Naples

Extra Space Storage is being constructed on Useppa Way behind Ultimate Express Car Wash, while a six-story hotel is pending on a 2.5-acre parcel under contract along Juliet Boulevard south of Chase Bank and west of the Walmart Supercenter. A pre-application meeting was held earlier this month with Collier County planners, but a site development plan to build a 132-room, all-suites hotel is not necessarily a done deal. “I can tell you the project has a high likelihood of happening,” said Joseph M. Toole, president of Toole Companies, a family business that owns and operates hotels in western Massachusetts.

Old Guadalupe shop razed for new retail space

The former Guadalupe Resale & Consignment Shop at 8100 Trail Blvd. is being redeveloped on spec as retail space. “We’re really focusing on anything in the financial industry. It’s kind of a financial industry segment of road there,” said Robert Carroll, a leasing and sales agent for Investment Properties Corp. of Naples. “We are looking at all of the typical retail type users. We’re pretty open. We are talking to a number of users who have a good deal of interest. We think it will be appealing to a larger swath of users.”
